Get the Box Office Fox blog delivered to your inbox and stay up to date with what tickets are going on sale soon. For ticket brokers. For fans. For music & sports lovers.

Later in the course, we’ll take a look at how to list with other resale marketplaces like Vivid Seats and how to use Skybox to manage your listings across multiple platforms at once. We’ll also take a look at buying tickets from other ticket providers like AXS, eTix and Ticketweb.

For now, let’s start by setting up accounts to sell tickets on the two primary resale markets: Stubhub and Ticketmaster Verified Resale.

Buy & Sell on Ticketmaster

Ticketmaster Verified Resale integrates with your existing Ticketmaster Account. Go to your Ticketmaster Account to Manage Your Listings where you can view Active Listings, Sold and Expired listings.

The advantage of selling with Ticketmaster is that your listings will show up on the seating chart to fans who are looking to buy face value tickets.

The pink icon on the seating chart indicates resale tickets from fans and brokers. Tickets that are listed on Ticketmaster are 100% legitimate because they were bought through Ticketmaster. They control everything so all you have to worry about is listing your tickets for sale and Ticketmaster will do the rest.

Seller Fees

Service fees can vary by event, but expect to pay about a 15% fee to sell your tickets on Ticketmaster. Tickets are free to list, so you pay nothing if they don’t sell, or you remove your listing.

Getting Paid

You’ll get paid by direct deposit within 7 days after the event takes place.

Since you won’t get paid until after the tickets have been transferred to the buyer and the event has taken place, this can mean your money could be tied up for several months.

This is a good reason to never carry a credit card balance. Always make sure you can float your investment before getting paid.

Sell on Stubhub

Stubhub is one of the most popular resale marketplaces and a great place to see how much resale tickets are selling for.
