Always make sure to read the Event Details closely before investing in tickets. Event Details can be found on the Ticketmaster event page. Let’s take a look at some common scenarios you might run across with certain tickets:

Event Ticket Limits

Look for the ticket limit on the event page to see how many tickets you can buy under the same billing address. Full time ticket brokers often use multiple credit cards with different billing addresses to get around this.

High profile events may have a strict limit of 2 or 4 tickets per household, whereas smaller general admission shows may have a more relaxed limit of 8 tickets.

Residency Restrictions

Some high profile events, especially in-demand sports teams, may impose residency restrictions. That means your billing address will have to fall within the billing areas outlined in the Event Details. This usually means ticket buyers will be limited to the same state or neighbouring state the event is taking place in.

If your billing address doesn’t match, your order will be cancelled.

COVID/Health Restrictions

Proof of vaccination or negative COVID test will be required for entry.

Upon writing this, the concert/sports ticket industry is in unprecedented times. Consider whether you want to resell tickets for events with COVID restrictions that require proof of vaccination to entry. Any roadblocks that prevent entry to an event can complicate the sale and that are out of your control can prevent whether you get paid.

Artists who are for all fans being vaccinated are making the news. Artists who are against all fans needing to being vaccinated are also making the news. It’s a turbulent time, so invest with caution.

Currently, there are more people vaccinated than not, so demand should not be a problem but be aware of the landscape we are currently in and expect sudden changes to requirements for entry.

All of these are factors outside of your control and can impact your profits so from a business perspective you need to be aware of how COVID affects the ticket industry.

Read the news, stay up to date, get different perspectives and always have a backup plan when you are investing.
