Apply for a Credit Card That Offers Presale Access

As a successful ticket broker, you’ll need a credit card (or credit cards) that will work for you and help you accelerate your business.

If you have a credit score above 700, you are in great shape! If you don’t have a credit score, or not sure, check out Credit Karma to get your free credit score.

If you are working on building, or re-building your credit, start small. You can use any credit card to purchase tickets, but ideally you’ll want the ones that offer presale access, and cashback or travel rewards. You can write off the annual fee of your credit card as a business expense.

If you don’t have a credit card, you can use Visa Debit to purchase tickets from Ticketmaster, however this is not recommended. Use this method as a last resort if you are absolutely stuck and have no means to access a credit card or you are working on building or rebuilding your credit and move away from using Visa Debit as quickly as possible.

Ticketmaster Gift Cards, or Visa or Mastercard gift cards are also accepted, but again, not recommended.The goal is to earn reward points from all the ticket inventory you’ll be buying. You can use those reward points as a statement credit or to travel, depending on your goals.

Make sure you can pay off your credit card balance in FULL each month. Do not carry a balance or you will be paying interest which will cut into your profit.

Some credit cards even offer referral bonuses once you are a cardmember so you can earn extra points by sharing your referral link with other brokers, friends, family, or business associates.

Being a cardmember of one of these cards allows you to unlock presale access to preferred tickets, exclusively for cardmembers. If there is a cardmember presale for an event, simply use the presale code (found in Box Office Fox) and charge the purchase to your eligible card to get tickets before the general public.
