When you buy tickets from Ticketmaster, you’ll have a couple different options for how you want the tickets delivered to you. The delivery method also impacts how you’ll transfer tickets to the buyer when you resell them on Stubhub and other resale sites. Let’s take a look:

Mobile Transfer

These tickets are in your Ticketmaster online account (or the ticket provider you bought them from). This is the most common delivery method.

Fans will need to download the Ticketmaster app on their phone and login to their account to view their tickets.

Their phone is their ticket, and it will then be scanned at the gate. Because it’s a digital ticket, there are heavy security protocols in place to prevent fraudulent tickets. Some events have rotating barcodes which are constantly changing to verify their authenticity.

When you list your tickets for sale, you’ll be asked to select whether you have mobile tickets. Then you’ll transfer the mobile tickets to the buyer’s email address through your account where you bought your tickets from (ie Ticketmaster).

Mobile tickets are a recommended option for resale.

Mobile “Text My Tickets”

Some mobile tickets only have the option to “Text My Tickets”. Unfortunately these can’t be sold on Stubhub or transferred to another buyer. You will need to contact Ticketmaster Support and try to get them to change the delivery method so you can transfer tickets to your buyer. You may also want to contact Stubhub support at 1-866-788-2482 to get their help as well if your tickets have sold.

Mobile Screenshot

Some mobile tickets will allow you to take a screenshot of the ticket and upload it. Be sure to include the QR Code, section, row and seat number of your screenshot, then upload it to Stubhub.

Barcode

Some Stubhub listings will require you to enter the barcode from your tickets. It’s best to enter this as soon as you have your tickets in-hand so the order can be completed sooner.

PDF Tickets

These are .PDF files on your computer or mobile device. They should be the original document you got when you bought your tickets.

You’ll simply need to download the PDF file to your computer, then upload it to Stubhub or your resale site to resell them.

If you bought multiple tickets and sold them in splits, you can use this free site: “Split PDF” to split up your tickets as needed and upload only the ones that sold. Or you can also use the paid version of Adobe Acrobat DC to edit and manage PDF files.

PDF tickets are a recommended option for resale.

Paper/Hard Tickets

These are traditional tickets printed on laminated, hard stock paper, wristbands or tickets printed at home. You will need to physically mail these to the buyer.

As a result, these types of tickets are more hassle to deal with because you’ll have to physically go to the post office, and there is a risk of them getting lost in the mail.

Some buyers prefer hard tickets as souvenirs, but they have become less popular since digital tickets came about.

Paper/hard tickets are ok for resale, mobile or PDF tickets are preferred.

Will Call

Tickets can be picked up at the venue box office only by the original buyer who will need to present government ID to verify their identity.

As a result, you won’t be able to resell will call tickets unless you pick up the tickets yourself and meet the buyer at the venue.

Do not try and sell will call tickets.

Pickup (Last Minute Services)

You can choose to ship your tickets to a Stubhub Last Minute Services center (LMS). The buyer can pick up their tickets at the office the day of the event.

This should only be considered an option if you have hard copy tickets and the event date is very close.

Ticket Delivery Delays

Ticket delivery delays are used to give Ticketmaster time to verify orders and ensure buyers haven’t gone over the ticket buying limits, and have adhered to residency restrictions if necessary.

Sometimes promoters will delay the delivery of the tickets until closer to the event. This is a fairly common scenario – especially with high profile events, but the good news is you can still list your tickets for sale without having them in hand.

For most events, you’ll want to download PDF tickets from your Ticketmaster account and upload them to Stubhub so they can easily be transferred to the buyer electronically.

Resale marketplaces like Stubhub and Vivid allow you to enter the date you expect to have the tickets. By this date you’ll need to transfer the tickets to your buyer, and as long as you follow through and the buyer receives their tickets before the event, you will get paid.

You must remember to transfer the tickets to the buyer by this date. You should receive an email reminder from Stubhub to do so. If you don’t transfer the tickets, your sale will be cancelled and you will be charged a penalty.

Stubhub Delivery Delay

Just select your ticket type and delivery date when you list your tickets on Stubhub.

If you have not received your tickets prior to 2 days before the event, contact Ticketmaster Support immediately.
