The Cal Poly Mustangs are the athletic teams representing California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. The university fields twenty teams and competes in NCAA Division I; they are primarily members of the Big West Conference,[2] but the football team plays in the Big Sky Conference,[3] the wrestling team is an affiliate member of the Pac-12 Conference, and the indoor track & field (specific to the winter-season portion of the schedule) squads are independent.[4]
