Miguel Jontel Pimentel (born October 23, 1985) is an American singer-songwriter and record producer, who specializes in contemporary and alternative R&B. Raised in San Pedro, California, he began pursuing a music career at age thirteen. He signed with Jive Records to release his debut studio album, All I Want Is You (2010). Though underpromoted upon release, it became a sleeper hit[7][8] and spawned the hit single "Sure Thing", which went viral on TikTok in 2023; as a result, it reached a second peak of number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remains his most commercially successful release.
After Jive's dissolution in 2011, he was moved to RCA Records and released his second studio album, Kaleidoscope Dream (2012) to continued success, spawning the hit single "Adorn". His third and fourth albums, Wildheart (2015) and War & Leisure (2017) further experimented with psychedelic and alternative influences; the former peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 while the latter contained the hit single "Sky Walker" (featuring Travis Scott), which received triple platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). He later released Caos (2025) to generally positive reviews from critics.[9] Miguel incorporates various genres such as R&B, funk, hip hop, pop, rock and electronic into his music, and has been compared to vocalists such as Babyface and Prince.
